Zamfara SUBEB Hosts Quiz Competition on Livestock Rearing for Primary/Secondary Schools

Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), through its school services department, recently organized the final zonal quiz competition for the 2020/2021 Livestock Rearing season.

The competition was held for primary and junior secondary schools in the state and took place at the Teachers Training and Development Center Bypass in Gusau, the state capital.

FARMERS VOICE NG gathered that, the Agric Education Training Program (AETP) of the Board facilitated the event.

During the competition, the Director of School Services of the Board, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, addressed the attendees and emphasized the importance of introducing practical agricultural knowledge to basic education schools.

He suggested that incorporating farming into basic education schools would help achieve the goals and aspirations of the SDG #2 and prepare students for lifelong learning, which are objectives of the UBE program.

Alhaji Garba Abdullahi called on education stakeholders to contribute to the success of the program and create a better society for the future.

At the end of the primary section of the quiz competition, the Gusau zone claimed first place with 12 marks, followed by the Anka zone in second place with 10 marks, and the Kaura Namoda zone in third place with 7 marks.

The Anka zone secured first place in the junior secondary school section, followed by the Gusau zone in second place, and the Talata Mafara zone in third place.
