HortiNigeria Empowers Farmers with Financial Access, Insurance Training in Kaduna

Must Try

In an effort to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in Kaduna State, HortiNigeria, a Dutch-funded horticultural program, is conducting a training program for producer organizations in various LGAs in Kaduna state.

The training aims to improve financial access and insurance uptake for 55 Producer Organizations (POs) and Agribusiness Cluster (ABC) actors in Kaduna.

Over 7 days, producer groups and actors within the program’s value chain will be sensitized by Financial Service Providers (FSPs) and insurance companies, facilitating linkage to these services.

Mr. Ikechukwu Chiaka, the inclusive finance lead in HortiNigeria, stated that the training aims to make producer organizations and actors more bankable, with the goal of increased access to finance.

This workshop reflects HortiNigeria’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s horticulture sector by empowering smallholder farmers with access to finance and insurance, thereby promoting sustainable and inclusive development.
