Kano CARES Empowers Over 7,000 Farmers with Agricultural Inputs, Assets

The Kano CARES project has disbursed agricultural inputs and assets to over seven thousand beneficiaries between January and February 2024 in Kano.

The Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Planning and Budget, also the chairman of the state CARES steering Committee, Alhaji Musa Sulaiman Shanono, made this known during an interview with newsmen.

He stated that the Kano state government, under the leadership of Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, is committed to empowering the poor and vulnerable across the state.

Additionally, he emphasized that the Kano CARES project is result-oriented, with independent verification agents (IVAs) ensuring the legitimacy of outcomes before reimbursement.

Rufa’i Halilu, the Delivery Head of the project, pleaded with beneficiaries not to sell or mishandle the provided resources. Some beneficiaries pledged to utilize and sustain the assets they received.

The distributed items include fertilizer, seeds, agrochemicals, solar water pumps, solar sprayers, cereal grinding machines, vegetable processing machines, popcorn machines, among others.
