Agric Stakeholders Demand Adequate Execution of N200 Billion for Palliatives

Must Try

In response to President Bola Tinubu’s recent nationwide broadcast titled “After Darkness Comes the Glorious Dawn,” agriculture stakeholders are urging the proper implementation of the Federal Government’s N200 billion intervention aimed at providing stable food and agricultural inputs.

The President emphasized that the intervention is crucial to ensure that food prices remain affordable, and he assured that farmers’ associations and stakeholders in the agriculture value-chain are on board with the initiative.

Mr. Godwin Egbebe, the National Publicity Secretary of the Poultry Association of Nigeria, stressed the need for proper implementation of the palliatives and suggested collaborations with relevant stakeholders for efficient disbursement.

Akin Alabi, the co-founder of Corporate Farmers International, advised the Presidency to establish a special office responsible for tailoring policies to ensure effective implementation, aligning them with the intended objectives.

Mrs. Anthonia Amakwe, chairperson of the Association of Women in Trade and Agriculture, Lagos, also expressed her hope that the palliatives would reach the grassroots.

She believes that reaching local farmers will enhance productivity and ultimately lead to the desired food security for the country.
